So this petty grievance is about the Suffern Central School Board not voting on an item that was on the agenda at the the 9/4/2018 School Board Meeting. Action items 2.01 through 2.15 were table and not voted on.

According to this grievance the Suffern Education Association believes that they can grieve how the board decides to vote or not vote. It seems as though the SEA is upset as they may have had control of the board in previous years. This is evident that they never filed any grievances in 2016–2017 when it is said that they got what they wanted from a board that they felt they had control over.

Most Suffern Education Association Members Do Not Live In The District

The interest of the SEA in the Suffern Central School Board is curious. They obviously want the best contract that they can get and that is why they have financially supported several candidates to the tune of $2120 each on one election period. Matthew Kern and Dr. Chris Nicpon both received $2120 each from the Suffern Education Association.

The Suffern Education Association Does Not Have Standing

The Suffern Education Association did not realize that they do not have standing for this grievance. Since when does the Union feel as they can tell the board when they need to vote. The Union, which is an organization, which has 2/3 of their members that do not live in the district, feel as though they have standing? This is just plain silly!
