Most Suffern Central Employees and Suffern Education Association Members Do Not Live In The District| Suffern Central School District
SUFFERN NY — So after some research it turns out that most Suffern Central School District Employees and Suffern Education Association Members do not live within the school district, which means that they are not paying the Suffern Central School District taxes. Most taxpayers would not know this because many of the employees that do not live within the district are very vocal on local Suffern Facebook pages and Suffern Central School District pages that the budget should be passed and they really don’t seem to care the cost to taxpayers.
Many Suffern Central Employees and Suffern Education Association Members Don’t Live In District
Research shows that out of approximately 640 employees approximately 400 live outside the school district:
Total Employees: 640 Employees that Live Outside The District: 400 Employees that Live Within The District: 240
That is not the only surprising aspect of the research. It appears as though of the approximately 240 employees that live within the school district many of them are part time or are not teachers. They also make an average of approximately $22,000 or 21% less than the employees that live outside the district.
The final stats are approximately:
Live in District: 37.5% Live out of the District: 62.5%
So as the taxpayers, hire and pay more people that live outside the district than live in the district.
Suffern Central School District Employees That Live In District Make Less
These are the salary totals, comparing employees that live in the district vs those that live outside the district. Over $20,000,000 (that’s twenty million dollars) more are spent on employees that live outside the district.

The employees that live in the district makes approximately 21% less than non resident employees or less than $22,000 less than non resident employees.
It is nice to see that the district has thrown a few scraps to residents that pay almost $150,000,000 in taxes to support the teacher’s and employees salaries.
If you live within the school district and you are looking for a job within the school district, you may have a good chance at a part-time or much lower paying job than if you live out side of the school district.

Asst./Superintendents that Live In The District: 40% Total Salaries: $1,014,277.00 Total Salaries of Asst./Superintendents that Live Outside The District: $566,100.00 Total Salaries of Superintendents that Live Inside The District: $448,177.00 (For two Superintendents Salaries)
Lisa Weber and Dr. Adams both live within the district. Currently, they are both being paid to be Superintendent right now at a whopping price tag of $448,177.00.
The rest of the Assistant Superintendents of Suffern Central live outside of the district and do not contribute to the taxes required to pay their HUGE salaries.
When it comes to building administrators 92% do not live in the school district!

Principals: 12 Principals/Assistant Principals That Live In District: 8% Principals/Assistant Principals That Live Outside the District: 92% Salaries: $2,040,858.00 Salaries For Those That Live Outside The District: $1,898,058.00 Salaries For Those That Live Inside The District: $142,800.00
Even while district families were losing jobs and being laid off, the district employees did not miss a dime. Actually they got raises! Coaches for not coaching. The rationale was that they depend on that money. I guess $135,000 is not enough. How are they expected to get by on that? Most of them don’t even live in the district! They are not paying the tax. The common theme is that the taxpayer needs to just shut up and pay.

Next time the budget comes up for vote, start to watch those that are becoming vocal, many of them don’t live here. The Suffern Education Association doesn’t care how much the residents of the Suffern Central School District pay in taxes, because many of them don’t live here.
