Two private school Jewish parents recently announced their intention to run for Suffern Central School Board and Facebook lit up with antisemitic comments. Although there have not been too many private school parents commenting, the comments have apparently been shared like wildfire through the Jewish community.

The Jewish community came to the Suffern Central School District and Board years ago, asking for more assistance with busing for their children, instead, the school district doubled downed and made the busing situation worse for private school yeshiva parents.

Recently there have been many parents that have shown up at Suffern School Board Meetings to express their discontent and apparently there have been no changes, so these two men decided to run for school board election.

The responses on Facebook, have questions why don’t these Private School parents send their kids to public school and that if they choose to send their kids to private school to, basically shut up and just keep paying their taxes. These “taxes” continue to go up every year while the amount of children attending the Suffern public schools decrease every year. The salaries just keep exploding and the cost of benefits for the bloated school district increase at unprecedented rates.

What a misinformed suggestion! That is a checkmate solution!

Checkmate for the Suffern Central School District if Private School Parents Just Register Their Children For Public Schools

Even if the two candidates do not win the school board, they have already won. By simply announcing that they were going to run, the antisemitic comments by commenters were enough to energize the Jewish community.

Currently there are approximately 4,000 students in the Suffern Central School District, and the district maintains a $150,00,000 budget to operate. There are over 1,250 private school Yeshiva students that live in the school district.

If these students are registered for public school, that 30% surge in students would bankrupt the school district, or strangle hold the district that students and parents would not even recognize it by September 8th! They would not even need to show up! The school would need to prepare for these students and then continue to pay the staff and resources that they put in place. It would simply bankrupt the district.

Religious Parents, Register Your Students For Suffern Public Schools

Maybe it is time for the school district to wake up and provide the busing that the taxpayers are requesting. Sign up for your children to go to public school and watch how fast the school district starts to negotiate!
